8 Nights/09 Days Buddhist circuit cultural tours take you to the famous Buddhist destinations. Mostly they include famous monasteries and Stupas. This tour begins from Kathmandu, exploring Boudhanath stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa (UNESCO listed world heritage site), Kapan monastery and a little bit far-Namobuddha monasteries. After the Hindu monuments, second cultural attractions are Buddhist Gompas influenced by Tibetan Buddhism, Bhutanese Buddhism, and others.

There are abundant Buddhist cultural sites outside of the Kathmandu valley. Pokhara is one of them. World peace stupas, Malepatan Gumba, Tibetan refugee camp at Hyanja are some of the popular Buddhist sites in Nepal for visit and exploration. Monasteries basically situated at the hilltop areas from where the surrounding views can be seen. The last destination of this tour is the most significant place in Buddhism. It is Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. It is one of the world-renowned Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world. Every year thousands of Buddhist devotees and other travelers visit this UNESCO world heritage site. Completing the Buddhist circuit tour, you drive back to Kathmandu and proceed to further destination.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu (1300m), transfer to hotel.

Namaste and welcome to Nepal. After your arrival, Kathmandu, Vertex Holiday’s airport representative receives you at the airport and transfer to the hotel. After getting refreshed, we give you a short briefing and orientation by our tour leaders. The evening is wonderful with dinner with the Nepali cultural program. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 : Visit Namobuddha, Boudhanath and Kopan Gumba

Take optional mountain flight in the morning to view Mount Everest and other Himalayan ranges. For more details, you have to read down in the optional program.

After breakfast, we drive to Dhulikhel and further to Namobuddha. We can go by walking, cycling or driving. Choose which is suitable for you. Namobuddha monastery is located at the top of the hill which is also a wonderful viewpoint of the stunning snowy peaks of the Everest, Langtang and Manaslu region. Various mythologies have been connected with the monastery. One of them is about the sacrifice of a prince to be the pray of a tiger that saves all the cubs. Then we drive back to Boudhanath Stupa, which is located about 5 km eastern outskirts of Kathmandu. It is the biggest stupa in Nepal and a Buddhist. It is believed to have built in the 14th century in the form of giant Mandala. After the Chinese invasion in 1959, Boudhanath Stupa became a significant Tibetan Buddhist Centre. Then we drive to the Kapan Gumba, which is very much famous, located at the hilltop of Kapan. The surroundings are full of monasteries and the settlements of the Buddhist devotees.

Day 3 : Drive to Pokhara, if possible visits the Tibetan Refugee camp.

After breakfast, we drive to Pokhara. It is a naturally god gifted place. As an option of the driving, you can take a flight and see the views of Langtang, Manaslu and Annapurna region peaks. Driving takes about 7 hours and we reach Pokhara. If we reach Pokhara on time, we can go to visit the Tibetan refugee camp. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 : Visit world peace pagoda, Malepatan Gumba and others.

Our tour begins in the morning. We have several places to visit and several things to see. During our tour, we visit the world peace stupa, Malepatan Gumba, and various other Buddhist destinations. Based on your interest, you can enjoy the boat riding on Phewa Lake in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 : Drive to Lumbini.

After breakfast, we drive to the bus station and drive to Lumbini. It takes about four hours to reach at the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Even there are indigenous communities near Lumbini square. Lumbini is one of the world heritage sites of UNESCO. Refresh at the hotel and know the history of Lumbini. It is a world popular Buddhist pilgrimage destination. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 : Lumbini sightseeing.

Lumbini sightseeing is incredible. The Mayadevi temple, Puskarini Pool, garden. Museums, monasteries of different countries are there. All the things are important, where Lord Buddha spent His royal days. We can see many pilgrimage trips from various countries. It is a heaven of Buddhists. Spending a very spectacular time, we return back to the hotel. overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 : Drive back to Kathmandu.

After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu. Enjoying the views of forests, hills, Rivers, and gorges, we arrive at Kathmandu in 7-8 hours. Then we come back to visit Swayambhunath Stupa(UNESCO listed world heritage site). It is a golden spire crowning located at the hilltop in Kathmandu. It is a mystical and historical white doom that stays glistening and can be seen from a far distance. It is a 5th-century Buddhist pilgrimage center. Then you transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 : Final Departure.
