Located within Central Himalaya in between the massif Ganesh Himal in the west with Jugal Himal towards the east.

It is close to the world’s 14th highest peak Shisapangma in the north across the border in Tibet / China.

Langtang Valley and its mountain range fall within Langtang National Park, the first country’s mountainous national park ever established.

The park was declared in 1976 and covers an area of 1710 sq. km with a buffer zone of 420 sq. km. Situated in the district of Rasuwa extends as far as Nuwakot towards the southeast and Sindhupalchowk in the east.

Langtang Valley trekking provides moderate walks with a touch of high altitude reaching the highest spot at Kyanjin. Which is at a height of 3,830 m / 12,565 feet high, and offers several high viewpoints. Like the Kyanjin-Ri or Tserko-Ri at 4,773 m / 15,655 feet high, where one can marvel at jaw-dropping Himalayan views.

The highest in the Langtang Himal range is Mt. Langtang Lirung 7,234 m with Ghengu Liru / Langtang-II 6, 571 m. Includes Kimshun Peak at 6,745 m and Shalbachum at 6,918 m, the view extends as far as Jugal Himal in the east.

The most famous, popular trekking peak is Yala at 5,520 m / 18,110 feet, a non-technical peak to climb. The varied landscapes of the country make the trek more interesting along with the local immense and impressive Buddhist cultures.

Oaks, Chir pine, maple, fir, blue pine, hemlock. Includes spruce and various species of rhododendron which makes the main forest species.

During springtime from March to May, the hills and valleys are bright and lively with wildflowers in bloom. Especially the rhododendron of various species the national flower of Nepal decorates the forest with different shades of colors.

Around Langtang Valley Trekking Tamang is the main tribe of Langtang Valley and Rasuwa district around Langtang Himal range follows Buddhism. The indigenous and ancient mountain tribes that have migrated from Inner Mongolia through Tibet, more than 2000 years ago.

Best seasons for Langtang Valley Trekking:

The best time is in spring from March to May, when the daylights are longer with enough sunshine. But can be cold from late afternoon till the next morning before the sun comes, could get snowfall sometimes. Spring is lively with wildflowers in seasonal bloom making the whole area an Eden Garden.

The next best and high season is autumn/fall starting from September to November. Although cold morning and night times, days are clear for views and walks with sunny days. But on shorter days due to sunlight hours, might snow sometimes.

Traveling Distance on Drives and trekking:

Drive from Kathmandu by local regular bus, or private transportation takes about 4 to 6 hrs. Reaching Syabrubesi is the start and endpoint of 6 / 7 days of trekking covering 65 km or 40 miles both ways. The driving distance of approx. 68 km. takes more than four hours due to the hilly winding and zig-zag road to drive.
