Kathmandu - Bhutan to Thimphu

Fly from Kathmandu to Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Arriving at Paro, meet the trip crew and drive to Thimpu. Enjoy the day for acclimatization by visiting the surroundings. Overnight at the hotel.

Zilukha Nunnery
It is a home of nuns who are devoted to Lord Buddha. You can visit this nunnery to explore the spiritual life of nuns. Meditation comes along with their daily routine. The place is peaceful and is located beside the Highway. During the visit to Zilukha Nunnery, you can also get eternal pleasure from meditation.
National Memorial Chorten
National Memorial Chorten was built in the late twentieth century with a red prayer wheel and a shrine. The visitors or the Buddhist devotees always take some rounds. The Chorten was built in honor of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. It is a place for mental solace, where one can feel the peace, devotion, and integrity of souls from various social backgrounds. Buddha Statue

Simtokha Dzong
Simtokha Dzong was built in 1629, which is also known as Sangak Phodrang. It is a tiny Dzong built by Ngawang Namgyal, the person who unified Bhutan. It was a unique and initial construction of that type of dzong. It is a significant historical monument and is now a language institute.
Dochula Pass (3140m)
Dochula pass is a popular site where you can see the 108 shortens built by Queen Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck. The stunning Himalayan views can be explored. Druk Wangyel Lhakhang is another wonderful site. Overnight at the hotel.
Chhimi Lhakhang
Chimi Lhakhang is one of the significant Buddhist monasteries in the Punakha district. It has got a pyramid temple-shaped structure. This monastery was built in 1499 by Drukpa Hierarch, which is believed to have been blessed by the divine madam. It is situated on the hillside of Lobesa.
Punakha Dzong
Punakha Dzong was built in a model of the capital city, which is a central place of government administration. It was built with an order of Guru Rinpoche for the abode of Namgyal. Later Thimpu served as a capital city. Overnight at the hotel.

Punakha to Paro

After breakfast, drive to Paro. Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten Located north of Punakha, this Chorten offers good scenery at the opposite bank of the River. It is 30 meters tall and is dedicated to the fifth King, who protected the country.

You can also visit the Techogang bridge, which is one of the oldest bridges of Bhutan, and take an abundance of snaps. Overnight at the hotel.

The National Museum of Bhutan
It is an educational institution that preserved the history and traditions of Bhutan. Several cultural artifacts can be found there that are collected from different parts of the country. It is significant in terms of research work and exploration of history. Overnight at the hotel.

Hiking to Paro Taktsang Monastery 3-4hrs.

After breakfast, drive to Taktshang cliff. It takes a couple of hours to get there. It means the Tiger’s Nest, which has got a link with Guru Padma Sambhava, who flew to this Nest and spent a long time meditating there. It has become a famous Buddhist pilgrimage destination. Kyichu Lhakhang
It is one of the most significant sites in Bhutan. Kyichu Lhakhang has got two temples. The Songtsen Gampo was built in the 7th century. It is located in Paro. The Jampe-Lhakhang is located in Bumthang. Special celebrations of the Bhutanese Royal family take place in this place.
