On arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal’s international airport, a representative from Vertex Holiday will receive you for a short transfer to the center of Kathmandu city, where your hotel is located.

Morning departs from the hotel in a car, coach, or regular tourist bus, depending upon the group size. However, the drive leads to low warm farm country villages, and towns, as the main highway, follows the Trisuli River for a few hours.

Having early breakfast, a few hours drive takes you beyond Pokhara city and the valley, reaching Ulleri small village.

From here onward on a gradual winding uphill trail through a lovely mixed forest of tall rhododendrons, pines, firs, and oaks trees with some bamboo.

As walk head further up and then reach the entrance of lower Ghorepanithe village, a few minutes of the climb takes you to a high ridge of upper Ghorepani.

Early morning before dawn, an hour’s climb to Poon Hill to catch striking views of the sunrise. Enjoy the fresh morning cool air along with a fabulous sunrise that reflects on an array of Mid-West Himalayan peaks.

As this is a short moderate trek, does not involve high altitude, except for a day at Poon Hill and Ghorepani. Nearly all year one can join for this trek, except the wet monsoon times of July and August. The best time is in the spring and autumn seasons.

When the weather is fine around Nepal, however Himalayan weather sometimes is unpredictable and depends upon the region of trekking and other holidays in Nepal and altitude wise, higher above 1,600 meters day times are sunny most of the time with cooler morning and evening time.

Morning and night can be much cooler in both the spring and autumn seasons, winter is another good time for short treks and hikes, but much colder morning and nighttime with short days due to sun-light hours.

Our guides are fully prepared for this type of situation, carrying a medical kit and the guides have gone medical and First Aid training. If it’s very serious needs to be evacuated by any means of various quick transports, hiring a vehicle to reach the patient at the nearest best medical center and hospitals or by Helicopter service.

Truly Beautiful Trip

It was my first time trekking and Poon Hill was a unique experience. I loved the villages and  Rhododendron forests, with stunning views of the Himalayas. The beauty of the landscape was truly breathtaking. I’m grateful to guide Santosh who was young and strong as he helped me carry my luggage.

It was a piece of cake, the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek offered the chance to witness a sunrise over the Annapurna Himalayas from the famous Poon Hill viewpoint. It was a magical experience that will stay with us forever. Our guide Sanjay was very nice and helpful. The only bad experience was the steps, they were exhausting.

For a person coming from a concrete jungle, the tea houses along the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek provided a unique opportunity to connect with the local people and learn about their culture and way of life. Exciting Short Holiday Trip in Nepal

As for us, the Poon Hill trek was the best choice for us as it was suitable for trekkers of all levels. It was a great way to experience the beauty of the Himalayas without being too strenuous. Our guide and porters were very kind people, always smiling. The only negative experience was that some of the lodges were too basic, however the overall experience was exciting.

For us, the Ghorepani Poon hill trek was a very amazing experience as we could watch the beautiful scenery of the mountains with very little effort. Although some parts of the trek were steep steps, the view from the top was totally worth it. Vertex Holiday is provided with energetic and cheerful guides and porters making our trip easier.

Easy Best Short Treks In Nepal with Vertex Holiday

In the 2024 spring season, we went on the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with my family, and it was a great experience. The walk gave us a fresh perspective on life and culture that we had never had before. Various Colorful Rhododendron flowers with panoramic views from Poonhill were stunning, especially right before sunrise when the mountains were bathed in golden light.

This Ghorepani Poon hill trek was an easy trip for all ages people but stunning scenery, and a Rhododendron jungle were amazing beauties for travelers to explore in Nepal. The locals were kind and welcoming their kindness impressed us. The cultural immersion was remarkable, and we felt intimately linked to the spirit of the place. Additionally, the accommodations on this side are excellent
