Drinking alcohol is not safe in high altitudes, especially when going uphill, as it can dehydrate. High altitude trekkers need to rehydrate by taking lots of fluids and safe drinking water.
Walk slowly and steadily, take a rest from being breathless, and keep on drinking the water. The thin air can dry your mouth and body due to a lack of moisture and oxygen. The only hospital is in Pokhara (the start and ending point of the trek); the rest of the bigger villages and towns have small health posts. But it lacks experienced doctors or medical staff. On booking with Vertex Holiday, the company will send you the gear and items list for the trek season-wise. If it is too much to carry from home, as per the international flight baggage weight limit. Trekkers can purchase or rent some of the gear, like sleeping bags and down jackets (if they’re not included in the trip cost). Comfortable trekking boots, a few pairs of trousers and shorts, fleece, and down jackets are necessary. Including 4-season sleeping bags with an inner liner, a water bottle, and the best is Sigg or metal. Sun hat/ cap, scarf to avoid strong sunlight and dust. Carry some rehydration or energy powders to mix with drinking water. Trekking poles are good but optional, as well as your personal toiletries items, torch or flashlight. Including a charger and adapter for recharging your electronic gadgets. Good backpack for daily use to carry your necessary items, as well as Duffel or Kit Bags for porters to carry. Most important to carry rain or snow proof suits.

Amazing experience
Truly an amazing experience walking close beneath the towering Machhapuchare and Mardi Himal. The Mardi Himal Viewpoint, Khopra ridge. Including Poon Hill was wonderful. Standing close at a mere distance from the world’s highest peaks. Enjoyed the trek from start to end, a marvelous adventure with Vertex Holiday.
