After an early breakfast and refreshments, guides or staff will receive you for a short transfer to the domestic airport. After checking with the airlines, get on board a small aircraft. Twin Otter, Dornier, or similar STOL aircraft built for mountainous airports and short airstrips. Like the unique Lukla’s Tenzing & Hillary Airport, a scenic flight to enjoy an unparalleled panorama of the Himalayan range of peaks, with Mt. Everest.

The plane lands at Lukla’s short runways after 30 or 35 minutes and then reaches the Tenzing & Hillary Airport parking. After getting organized with the baggage,

An enjoyable walk downhill for a short while, enjoying the views of farm villages, as the walk leads through several nice villages. After breakfast, start the walks on a pleasant, winding path. After a short hour of walking, cross over a long bridge above the Dudh Koshi River. A short climb to lovely Monjo village, enter Sagarmatha National Park, a name for Everest in Nepal. The native Sherpa name is Chomolungma, is similar to Tibetan languages. Sagarmatha National Park has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979. From the park entrance, walk down to cross the same river to reach the last settlement of Jorsalle before Namche Bazaar.

At Jorsalle for a lunch stop, located on a Dudh Koshi River gorge covered in dense trees of rhododendrons, oaks, pines, and firs. Afternoon walks on the river bed and a short climb to cross a high bridge. From here, an undulating uphill climb for a few hours to Namche Bazaar.

A large settlement, the size of a moderate town, with colorful and well-built houses serving as lodges and hotels. Enjoy a nice comfort in one of the best lodge rooms, with a grand view of the Kwangde Himal range, and Tharmasarku peaks.

The trek to Namche Bazaar from Phakding takes approximately. 12 km / 7.5 miles. Of more than 5-6 hours, due to gain in altitude.

A perfect place and ideal height for rest and acclimatization, before heading higher ground. Sleeping and resting low is best, taking a short hike high above Namche Bazaar is best for acclimatization.

Best short hikes at Namche Bazaar:

After breakfast, climb towards the Park Headquarters, located on the top of a scenic ridge. The high point of Namche Bazaar offers a grand vista of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse with beautiful Mt. Ama Dablam, Khangtiaga, and Tharmasarku. It includes the Kwangde Himal and visiting the museum to gather information on Sherpa culture and history. The museum also offers information on flora/fauna and the history of mountaineering expeditions around the Khumbu/ Everest region.

The next scenic hike is climbing above Namche Bazaar to a small old airstrip at Syangboche. Then, a gradual climb up to Everest View Hotel, the first luxury hotels in the Khumbu and Everest region. Designated in the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest hotel in the world at 3,962 m/ 13,000 feet.
It is built on a high ridge amidst pine and rhododendron forest.

Enjoying a pleasant stop for two overnights in Namche Bazaar, the walk leads on a pleasant, gradual, wide trail. After a steep, short climb to start the morning walk to Tengboche. The walk follows along with superb views of towering snow peaks downhill to the Imja Tse River at Phunki Tenga. A small settlement is a popular Lunch stop for trekkers before heading to Tengboche and beyond.

After lunch, a climb for two hours on average, head uphill on winding ups through dense woods. Covered in tall rhododendrons, pines, oaks, and fir trees, reaching an open, wide area at Tengboche. A beautiful location surrounded
by the towering snow-clad peaks amidst a beautiful forest with a colorful, majestic monastery. After checking into a nice room and having afternoon refreshments, enjoy a tour of the monastery enriched with ancient artifacts.

Tengboche Monastery is famous for a colorful religious festival called Mani Rimdu. This event is held for three days during late October or the first week of November, as per the Buddhist Lunar calendar.

Please note: Sometimes the guide leads you further down to Deboche for an overnight stop. After visiting the monastery, which is located in a serene environment, this area provides good lodge accommodation.

From Tengboche or Deboche, enjoying a good breakfast, head down to the river to cross a strong steel bridge. From here on, the tall tree lines drop for short alpine shrubs and bushes, and the walk follows with gradual ups.

Facing stunning views of Ama Dablam peak, then reaching Pangboche. The last permanent village en route to Everest base camp.

The other places for overnights are temporary settlements to cater to the trekkers, like Dingboche, Pheriche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep.

After a short rest, continue walking past Pangboche village, following a gentle climb to Somare. A popular lunch spot before Dingboche, with the backdrop of majestic Ama Dablam, towers above the Somare settlement. After lunch, enjoy a good walk with gradual ups, from here on it gets cold with a cool mountain breeze. The walk continues with a short descent to a stream and then climbs for an hour to Dingboche. It is located within scenic Imja Tse Valley, with tremendous views of Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Island Peak. On arriving at Dingboche, the guide will take you to one of the best lodges for two overnight stops.

After a pleasant overnight in Dingboche, morning walks with a short climb to a ridge. Adorned with Buddhist prayer monuments, the walk gradually follows up to Thugla. The best and only place for a lunch break en route to Lobuche, and the trail from Pheriche and Dingboche join. It is also the melting point of the massive Khumbu glacier.

After lunch, a steep climb of less than an hour to the top of Thugla’s small pass. From here on a gradual path for an hour to Lobuche for an overnight in one of its best lodges. Check into a nice room facing views of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks, Lobuche, a nice spot well hidden from gusty, cold wind.

From Dingboche to Lobuche, approx. 11 km / 6.5 miles in 7 hours with a lunch stop.

The final day of the main highlight of the adventure to Everest Base Camp.
After a good early breakfast, the morning walk follows a gradual trail, with a short climb reaching a rocky section. The walk is interesting, along with the views of
Mt. Pumori, Mt. Everest, and adjoining peaks. The leads above the Khumbu Glacier to reach Gorakshep. A small settlement with few nice lodges, situated beneath Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar rocky ridge.

From Gorakshep walk to Everest Base Camp, a gradual and rocky path to enjoy. Then reach the foot of the number one Mount Everest, with close views of the massive Khumbu Icefall. Enjoy the incredible landscape scenery similar to Arctic wild terrains. Covered in moraines of rocks, snow, ice, and glaciers, during April and May, the high and busy season for mountaineering, the base camp is flooded with expeditions’ tented camps of various countries.
After an exciting hike, and achieving the goal of the adventure, walk back to Gorak Shep for an overnight.

Rising early before breakfast, an exciting climb to the top of Kalapathar, a famous and popular viewpoint. A climb of a few hours to reach the rocky high ridge, as well as the highest spots of the adventure. Enjoy the last strenuous hard climb to the top of Kalapathar. After hours of hard effort, reaching the top, enjoy the mind-blowing panorama of the giant peaks. As you stand on the highest spot of the adventure, the surrounding gigantic peaks encircle the top of Kalapathar.

Facing the closest views of Mt. Everest at a stone’s throw distance, Mt. Pumori towers in front of Kalapathar high ridge. After a refreshing and mesmerizing moment with the grand views of Everest, descend to Gorakshep for breakfast.

Getting ready with the baggage and waiting for the chopper to land at Gorakshep sandy field. Then board a spacious, seated helicopter for a scenic, pleasant joy ride. The Heli flies over the same routes that you trekked from Lukla. After a short flight, lands at Lukla to refuel.

Enjoying a brief stop in Lukla, the scenic flight continues for an hour with breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks. Then, slowly, the Heli makes a soft landing at Kathmandu airport. On reaching the hotel, the rest of the day is leisure for individual activities and shopping for souvenirs.

Spring begins from March to May, one of the peak times, when daylight hours are longer. I got the money’s worth of services and was quite surprised as well with the great knowledge of the expert guides. Every evening during dinner time, provided with full information on the areas, culture, religion, including flora/ fauna.
It was more than I expected, and I sincerely recommend Vertex Holiday.
