An early breakfast, and then transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for a scenic Helicopter flight to Lukla. During the airborne, panoramic views of the Himalaya range of peaks, with Mt. Everest. On landing at Lukla’s Tenzing & Hillary Airport after a 40-45 minute flight. A refreshing stops in Lukla to get organized for the trek, and hiring porters by the guide.

The trek begins heading through Lukla town, lined with shops, stores, and restaurants, nice hotels, and lodges. Then, on reaching the end of Lukla, stands the exit gate, named Pasang Lhamu Sherpa Gate.

Today’s walk takes you to the famous Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa Capital of the Khumbu region of Everest. The morning walk follows a pleasant trail with ups and downs, crossing over a long suspension bridge.
Then a short climb to Monjo village with views of Tharmasarku peaks. From Monjo entering the Sagarmatha National Park, then crossing a bridge above the same river to Jorsalle. The last settlement before Namche Bazaar, stopping here for a possible lunch break, and the afternoon walk on the riverbed.
Walk through a lovely, cool forest of pines, fir, and rhododendron trees, as the route leads to a high bridge. From the bridge on undulating winding ups to Namche Bazaar for an overnight halt.

From Gorakshep, start early for the long day walk to Everest Base Camp and to reach Pheriche. The walk follows over rocks and a sandy path with short up and down to reach Everest Base Camp. It is not as difficult as one would expect; the only difficulty is the rise in altitude. But with daily walks and spending overnight at a certain height, it will support acclimatization. The itinerary is set at designated places with safe heights, so that trekkers can adjust and get acclimatized to the altitude. By the time you reach Everest Base Camp, you will feel safe and able to overcome most of the difficulties.

On these fastest and adventurous treks, most trekkers have experience regarding the high altitude and terrains. For beginners venturing into the Himalayas for the first time, they need to take it slowly.

Being super fit to accept the challenges of high altitude trekking.
All trekkers need to follow the advice of the guide, sleeping and resting well, and having good, nutritious food. Avoid alcoholic drinks when heading up, but it is okay to enjoy on the return walks to Namche Bazaar.

Altitude and dry air make you dehydrated, so all needs safe drinking water, at least 2-3 liters per day. As well as keeping warm with the right gear, during the morning, late afternoon, and nighttime.

The best time is the spring from March to May, and autumn/fall from September to November. The days are clear and pleasant for trekking, along with glorious views of the snow-capped peaks. Morning and in shade can be cold, as well as the late afternoon till nighttime. It can get snowy sometimes with light rains around the lower hills from Salleri to Phakding. Interested people can venture during the winter time of Christmas and the New Year Holiday despite the cold winter months. Most days are bright and clear, but with freezing temperatures in the morning and at night. Days are shorter during autumn and winter, with limited sunlight hours, but it is one of the best times for trekking.

But the best season to cover a great distance before dark is in the springtime from mid-March to May. Days are much longer with enough sunlight, and it gets dark by 6:30 pm.

It entirely depends on the booking and interest of the trekkers; we accept bookings with a minimum of 2-3 people in a group. A maximum of 10 to 15 people in the groups for all trekking adventures around the Himalayas.

In some cases we do run this trek for solo or individual trekkers, also with a guide and porter.

It is not as popular as other standard itineraries for Everest Base Camp. We have set this nine days program for enthusiastic and strong people with limited holidays in Nepal.  It allows them to enjoy and fulfill the dreams of trekking adventures around the Himalayas. As well as being close in front of the world’s highest, Mt. Everest, in the harmony of local cultures.

In this situation, we let the client walk back to a safe altitude to recover and wait for the main group. So, he/she can join the main group at the end in Namche Bazaar for the flight back to Kathmandu. If the condition is severe, we need to charter a helicopter for immediate evacuation. Bringing the patient to Kathmandu for the best treatment at the hospital.

Great short trip in Nepal

It was a tough adventure not having an extra free day for rest and proper acclimatization. But luckily no got sick, but with slight headache only, which made this Nine days Everest Base Camp Trek enjoyable and exciting.

Overall it was a great trip, although it was hard for some days.

I expected simple and basic accommodation and food, but it was amazing to find great standard food and rooms for overnights. It was a great experience on 9 days Everest Base Camp, wished we had more times in Namche Bazaar and at Dingboche. But overall it was a great exciting trek till the end with scenic pleasant flight on a Helicopter to Kathmandu.

Great and exciting trip

I thought we would be in a big group of trekkers, but it was only 4 people booked for Nine days Everest Base Camp Trek. Enjoyed the trek till the end at Namche Bazaar, wish I had longer time to spend extra days in Nepal.

The trek was great and exciting, although some days it was quite tough with the altitude and dry air. Lost my appetite for few days, but it was a great trip.
